On Behalf of | Feb 27, 2018 | Wrongful Death |

There is nothing a parent fears more than losing a child in a tragic accident. When these deaths are the result of negligence on the part of other individuals the loss is often compounded with frustration and anger. Connecticut families who lose loved ones to these types of accidents may seek justice and recompense by filing a wrongful death civil lawsuit against the party or parties believed responsible.

Recently, Connecticut police announced the arrest of a man after a hit-and-run accident that took the lives of two young women. According to the findings of the investigation, the fatal accident occurred just before 10 p.m. on a recent weeknight. The women had just exited a cab when a vehicle operated by a 24-year-old man struck them. He then fled the scene.

One of the women, a 25-year-old, died at the time of the collision. The 23-year-old woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she died several days later. Police reviewed video of the accident and were able to identify the driver. He was arrested and charged with several crimes, including two counts of manslaughter in the second degree as well as evading responsibility that included a fatality.

The owner of the car has also been charged with evading responsibility after it was discovered he was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the deadly wreck. He had initially reported his car stolen and was additionally charged with making false reports. The victims’ families are devastated by this tragic accident. Connecticut families who find themselves in these types of unimaginable circumstances often face significant financial damages that tend to compound their emotional pain. A personal injury attorney can help them pursue justice and financial relief by filing wrongful death claims against the parties deemed responsible for their losses.
