Sometimes families wait for justice after motorcycle accidents

It happens at times that an investigation into a fatal wreck takes Connecticut officials several weeks to complete. When families are awaiting news as to what may have led to a the loss of a loved one, the wait may feel like justice delayed. However, in the case of many motorcycle accidents, it can take considerable time to conduct interviews and examine all of the evidence.

One such recent investigation lead to charges being filed against a driver who allegedly caused a fatal motorcycle wreck. This collision occurred on a late April afternoon. According to investigators, a motorist who was approaching a crossroads failed to yield the right of way. His car collided with a motorcycle in the intersection.

The crash resulted in the male rider suffering critical injuries. He was transported to a local medical center where he later died. Police spent weeks reviewing video footage, conducting interviews and reviewing all of the evidence from the crash scene. Once Connecticut officials completed the investigation, their findings resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for the 67-year-old motorist driving the automobile.

He was recently charged with negligent vehicular homicide as well as failing to yield the right of way. The family of the victim may now have some feeling of closure in the knowledge that the person deemed responsible for their loss is now facing criminal charges. In addition to the legal ramifications that drivers face when they cause fatal motorcycle accidents, they may also face civil suits from the families of the deceased victims. These families may elect to file these suits in an attempt to recover some of the monetary damages that accumulate in the aftermath of these senseless tragedies.
